sky and textures

De lessen vrije grafiek aan de academie zijn (eindelijk !) weer van start gegaan. Dit zijn de resultaten van de eerste lessen.

My art classes  finally started again after 6 months. These are the results of the first lessons :

De prints liggen nog te drogen in het leslokaal, dus wordt vervolgd.
The prints were left to dry in the classroom, so to be continued.

Ook de kalligrafielessen zijn na 6 maanden weer gestart. De eerste lessen zijn we bezig geweest met texturen. Bedoeling was om een foto te 'vertalen' naar een textuur in tekst, al dan niet leesbaar. Een beetje à la Denise Lach. Hieronder een aantal van de eerste oefeningen.

The calligraphy classes have started too, after a long period of 6 months. We've been working around textures in the first 2 lessons. We had to 'translate' a picture into textures and text. A la Denise Lach.

Vorige week hebben we de lessen grafiek -individueel met de juf- afgesloten. Wat een raar schooljaar was het !
Ik mocht ook de laatste drukken die ik maakte mee naar huis nemen.

Last week was the end of the schoolyear. What a strange end it was !
My last prints were still on the drying-rack, so now I could take them home with me.

Heb nog net voor de 'lockdown' nog een aantal eerdere ontwerpjes kunnen drukken..

En ik werkte ook nog  één van de opdrachten uit van het kalli-corona-project.
De opdracht was: ontwerp een kaart voor iemand die je dierbaar is en die je -gezien de omstandigheden- niet kan zien.

Below you can see the result of another assignment of the kalli-corona-project, namely: design (and send) a card for someone dear to you, someone you can't see in person, given the circumstances.

Ik maakte gebruik van het lettertype van Rudolf Koch voor de tekst en vulde de letters met stift in 6 kleuren, met een kleurschakering. Doet me een beetje denken aan het 'pointillisme'. De fijne tekst is met inkt en spitse pen geschreven.

For the bigger letters I made use of Rudolf Koch's famous font and felt-tip pens in 6 colours. (I miss you) and the small letters are done with pelican blue ink and a pointed pen.
