last prints of the (school)year

Vorige week hebben we de lessen grafiek -individueel met de juf- afgesloten. Wat een raar schooljaar was het !
Ik mocht ook de laatste drukken die ik maakte mee naar huis nemen.

Last week was the end of the schoolyear. What a strange end it was !
My last prints were still on the drying-rack, so now I could take them home with me.

black out poem on paper + haiku

In juli/augustus vorig jaar 'schreef' ik een aantal 'stiftgedichten' . Daarvan heb ik er nu ééntje op papier gezet.
De tekst gaat als volgt: "Op de achtergrond hoorde ik mijn guilty pleasure - een muzikale taal die ik bewonder vanbinnen".

In July/ August last year I "wrote" a few blackout poems. I wanted to write one of these on paper. Sorry, the text is in Dutch...

Ook maakte ik nog een opdracht af voor het kalli-corona projekt.
De 'ingrediënten' waren dit keer: een achtergrond met meerdere materialen + tekst

And I accomplished another assignment for the kalli-corona project too. 
The ingredients were : a background using different materials and a piece of text. Here's the result :

inktense pencils- rice paper -foil- gouache-acrylic ink  -  ik gebruikte hiervoor inktense potloden, rijstpapier, alufolie, gouache en acrylinkt. haiku is by Herman Van Rmpuy.

All you need is less

Al geruime tijd bewaar ik  het papier dat in schoendozen zit, oude kranten ,tissuepapier enz...
Die doos zat nu vol,dus hoogste tijd om die leeg te maken. Na wat knippen, scheuren en plakken kwam ik tot bovenstaand resultaat.

I've been keeping shoebox paper, old newspapers, tissuepaper,,,for a long time, but the box was full ! So something needed to be done... After some cutting, tearing and gluing, this was the result..

Maar ik miste nog iets..Juist, letters !
But I missed some letters, it felt too 'naked'..

Op de foto hieronder zijn de zijkanten al wat bijgesneden en voegde ik letterstempels toe. Maar het zwart contrasteerde niet voldoende met de rest.

On the picture below you can see that I trimmed the edges and added some letter stamps, but the black didn't stand out enough...

 Dus nam ik er een rode posca stift bij om de zwarte letters bij te werken :
So I used my red posca pen ....

 Daarna voegde ik nog een kleine tekst toe onderaan rechts in fijne pen en rode gouache, maar ik merkte al snel dat het rood een 'ander' rood was, dus besliste ik dan om het woord 'all' ook in die rode gouache te maken. En dat beviel me beter...

I also wanted to add a bit of fine text  below (pointed pen and red gouache), but the 'reds' are different, which I didn't like, so I painted the "ALL" in the same colour. I liked that better ...
