Verjaardagskaarten voor mannen zijn niet altijd zo makkelijk. Maar deze man houdt van oranje, dat weet ik wél.Vorige week was ik bezig met achtergronden voor een werk te maken . Van de achtergronden was ik niet echt tevreden, dus wilde ik er kaarten mee maken. Want zonde om het weg te gooien.
Birthday cards for men...not always easy ! But this one likes orange. Last week I was preparing these backgrounds that didn't turn out the way I wanted. But I didn't want to throw them away either, so I made birthday cards with them.
De bovenste wilde ik gebruiken voor deze leporello. De andere zal je hier nog terug zien voor 2 verjaardagen in april.
I decided to use the experiment in the first picture for him. You'll definitely see the other 2 later in April, for 2 more birthdays..

Vorige week ging manlief inkt kopen voor de printer en kwam terug met inkt + gratis staaltjes CANON fotopapier in postkaart-formaat. Of ik er iets mee kon doen ? Geen idee, zei ik, maar wil wel eens iets uittesten. Er wordt namelijk vaak gezegd dat niet vele inkten/verven er op 'pakken', maar is dat wel zo ? Dat wilde ik even uittesten....
Last week my husband went out to buy some printer ink . He got more than he asked for; with the ink also came a package of sample photo paper in postcard size (canon). I had heard lots of people say that you can't do much with this kind of paper because not many inks/paints... will 'stick' to the paper. But is that true ? I wanted to try and experiment with different kinds....
Blijkt dat er toch meer mogelijk is dan ik had gedacht.Ik probeerde verschillende dingen uit: verf, gouache, ink, waterverf, stempelinkt,enz....Hier zie je enkele resultaten. Niet elk produkt werkt even goed natuurlijk.
More things were possible than I had originally thought. I tried multiple materials: paint, ink, stamping ink, water colour, gouache,etc... Here you can see some of the results. I do have to say that not all 'liquids' worked equally well.
Nadat alles droog was -en dat gaat sneller dan op gewoon papier-maakte ik een selectie van wat best werkte voor mij op dit papier. (opgelet: elk fotopapier heeft andere resultaten). Dit waren mijn favorieten:

De kleuren zijn wel heviger dan op normaal papier, maar met deze achtergrondjes kan ik misschien wel weer verder om nieuwe kaarten te maken. Maar dan moet ik eerst eens uitzoeken of en waarmee ik hierop kan schrijven. Dus: wordt vervolgd....Fijne zondag iedereen !
The colours are much brighter than on 'ordinary' paper, but you can create new backgrounds with these that in turn can be used for new cards. I do need to find out first if and how I'll be able to write on these. Anyone who knows ? so: to be continued...Have a nice Sunday !!!
