For this birthday card I worked again with negative spaces I took ad random from the original work and made a new composition with them. All in white and blue gouache. The third colour is metallic silver, but is hardly noticeable in these pictures, unfortunately.

De laatste tijd ben ik veel bezig geweest met de witruimtes die gecreëerd worden in en tussen de letters (de lege ruimte of negatieve ruimte), en niet met de letters an sich (of positieve ruimte). Dat levert soms best wel mooie resultaten op.
Een voorbeeldje hiervan is een ingeklapte kaart, waarvan ik deze video maakte:
Lately I've been occupying myself a lot with negative versus positive spaces. In 2019 I took a summer course with Marina Soria in which she taught us to pay more attention to the space in and between the letters and not so much to the letters themselves. And sometimes the results can be quite nice...
Je zal de volgende weken wel meer van deze werkjes zien voorbijkomen want ze zijn erg verslavend...
I hope you don't mind seeing more of these in the next couple of weeks, since working like this can be quite addicitve....
