I have been experimenting with bigger letters (5 to 6 cm tall) and gouache on this mxed media paper, but found it rather 'dull', so I also drew the negative spaces , to fill up the page. I used a very diluted form of the same gouache.
I like this version better, but maybe I should add another line of text too ?

"Youth is a gift of nature but age is a work of art" is a quote I liked very much,so I decided to make three versions of it; the same card model, the same text, but with different writing tools and fonts.

Als je een lange papierstrook als deze:
If you take a long strip of paper like this one,
in 16 vouwt en van elk van de 8 vierkanten een turkse vouw maakt en in elkaar schuift, krijg je dit:
and fold it into 16 segments and make a turkish fold in every square and finally nest the first and last segment, you'll get something like this:
En als je dan hetzelfde doet met een klein strookje papier, kan je dat gebruiken als het hartje van de bloem.
And if you then do the same thing with a small strip, yo can use the result for the 'heart' of the flower.
En het grappige is, dat je ook de achterkant kan gebruiken. Zo lijkt het wel een ster. Misschien een goed idee voor de kerst of anders gewoon een leuk tussendoortje.
And the fun bit is, that you can easily flip it, so it looks like this star. Maybe a good idea for next X mas ?
