panel book

 

Op een inkt-achtergrond die ik nog had liggen, wilde ik dit boekje (of kaart ?) naar het model van Hedi Kyle eens testen.

In juli neem ik enkele weekjes vakantie maar ik hoop jullie terug te 'zien' in augustus !

retirement colleague

 Binnen 5 dagen gaat mijn collega frans op pensioen. Ik gaf haar deze leporellokaart/boekje op haar laatste werkdag.

My french colleague-teacher retires in five days so I gave her this booklet on her last working day.

Deze week wat zitten spelen...

Had some fun this week with these:

 Wat is het geheime ingredient ?

What is the secret ingredient, you think ?

papier in de bak en laat die knikkers maar rollen ! paper in a tray and let those marbles roll !

 

Ik zoek nog een creatieve toepassing en laat ze jullie graag later nog eens zien ! I'm still thinking about  how to use them. If I know, I'll show you later !

The years teach us...

" De jaren leren ons de dingen die de dagen niet weten". Toffe quote voor deze verjaardagskaart,dacht ik zo. Hij is van JW Emerson.

"The years teach us the things the days don't know" is a quote by JWEmerson and very suitable for a birthday card I had in mind.

achtergrond: inkt op aquarelpapier- tekst:witte gouache en spitse pen - background: ink on watercolour paper- text: white gouache and pointed pen.

Vorige vrijdag was ook de allerlaatste lesdag (voor de examens) van een aantal zesdejaars leerlingen. Er werd de klastitularissen gevraagd een tekst te schrijven voor hun jaarboek, maar dat vond ik maar saai,dus maakte ik een bladwijzer met hun naam erop en elke letter staat voor een eigenschap.

 

Last Friday it was the last lesson for some 6th form pupils in my class. The class teachers were asked to write a text about their class for the pupils' yearbooks. Boring.... So I made them bookmarks with their name in die-cuts and a characteristic for every letter of their name.

1 van mijn favoriete quotes is deze: "Youth is a gift of nature but age is a work of art "

Ik maakte drie versies; zelfde model van kaart, zelfde tekst, maar andere uitvoering qua schrijfmateriaal en handschrift. De eerste (hier )en tweede zagen jullie al. Deze is  de derde. Laat zeker weten welke jullie de mooiste vinden !

"Youth is a gift of nature but age is a work of art" is a quote I liked very much,so I decided to make three versions of it; the same card model, the same text, but with different writing tools and fonts.

You saw the 1st and 2nd in April and May.Today is time for the last one. .

dan in inkt gezet- then in black ink

Ik was wat aan het spelen met gouache en grote letters (ong 5-6 cm hoog). Het resultaat is niet zo slecht, maar het was nogal 'kaal', dus tekende ik -met zeer verdunde gouache in dezelfde kleur) de negatieve vormen erbij :

I have been experimenting with bigger letters (5 to 6 cm tall) and gouache on this mxed media paper, but found it rather 'dull', so I also drew the negative spaces , to fill up the page. I used a very diluted form of the same gouache.

Beter, vind ik, maar misschien zet ik eronder toch nog een lijntje tekst ?

I like this version better, but maybe I should add another line of text too ?
