foam experiment + practice

 Op Pinterest zag ik onlangs een mooie foto van een keramiekvaas met mooie witte en zwarte strepen en ik dacht: misschien ook eens proberen ?

I found a nice picture of a ceramic vase on Pinterest and thought to myself: why not give it a try ?

Ik vond nog een (geel) foamvel, waaruit ik wat lijnen en vlakken knipte en opplakte op een dik karton .

I came across an old,yellow foam page and started cutting ... 

De bovenste 'stempel' maakte ik eerst en met de overgebleven stukjes maakte ik de tweede.

I made the first 'stamp' first and with the leftover pieces I made the second one.

En hier kunnen jullie de afdruk zien:

de eerste stempel afgedrukt in een donkerbruine (bijna zwarte) inkt en in denimblauw - the first one stamped in a dark brown and in denim blue

the second one, only in dark brown - de tweede stempel in de donkerste kleur afgedrukt

Ik weet niet goed wat ik er van moet denken; houden zoals het is, tekst toevoegen of in de 'mislukt-doos' ? Het is hoedanook niet de kunst met grote K...😃

I honestly don't know what to think about this: keep it like this, throw it away, add some text ? Just an experiment, as I said...

 Ook ben ik nog steeds aan het oefenen op een quote: 'there is beauty in this world when there is love in your heart'. (auteur onbekend) Hieronder een paar experimentjes...

In the meantime I've also been  experimenting with a quote: " there is beauty in this world when there is love in your heart"(author unknown). This is what I've come up with so far:

home printing

Weer eens aan't experimenteren gegaan met afdrukjes in karton en foam, met acryl , inkt, aquarelverf en blockprint verf, met telkens weer andere resultaten, de ene al meer geslaagd dan de andere. Het toevoegen van tekst zal later nog gebeuren. Welke is jouw favoriet ?

Once again I experimented with prints in cardboard and foam, with acrylic paint, ink, watercolour paint and blockprint paint, with different results each time, some more successful than others. Adding text will happen later. Which one is your favourite ?

collage + stamping HBD

Wat collagepapiertjes bij elkaar gezocht en opgeplakt.

Picked out some collage papers and glued them down on a card:

En op sommige van deze schreef ik ook nog een korte wens.

flowery 75th birthday

 Het was de 75ste verjaardag van mijn moeder vorige donderdag. Blauw is haar lievelingskleur, dus schilderde ik deze aquarelbloemen voor haar met een gepaste tekst in potlood.

Last Thursday was my Mum's 75 th birthday. Her favourite colour is blue, so I painted these watercolour flowers for her and an appropriate text in pencil.

boxes + thinking outside the box

 Uit een aantal oefenbladen maakte ik deze  doosjes, in verschillende maten en hoogtes. Altijd handig om op voorraad te hebben .

From some practice sheets I made these 4 boxes, in different sizes and heights. Always handy to have in stock .Nothing special, just some basic boxes.

Ook maakte ik ong 30 mini-doosjes als probeersel om samen in een compositie op te plakken.

I also made about 30 baby boxes attempting a nice composition, gluing them all together.

 Ik had nog een (mislukt)werkje liggen dat ik beplakte met theezakjes  en daarop heb ik dan de doosjes bevestigd. In de meeste doosjes heb ik dan letters geplakt die samen 'thinking outside the box' vormen.

I found a previous project I wasn't really happy with, so I glued some tea bags on top. Then I glued the baby boxes down and cut out letters from old magazines. Together it reads 'thinking outside the box'.
